This is Idaho: Mind your knitting around here

Posted on: March 04, 2008

If it’s new, different, poignant, funny, sad or quirky and it happens in south-central Idaho, call me at 735-3223, or write to me at scrump@magicvalley.com.

From Frank Rowe of Kimberly comes “The Rules of Rural Idaho:”

:€-Pull your droopy pants up. You look like an idiot.

:€-Turn your cap right, your head isn’t crooked.

:€-Let’s get this straight; it’s called a “dirt road.” I drive a pickup truck because I want to. No matter how slow you drive, you’re going to get dust on your Lexus. Drive it or get out of the way.

:€-They are cattle. They’re live steaks. That’s why they smell funny to you. But they smell like money to us. Get over it. Don’t like it? I-84 goes east and west, U.S. 95 goes north and south. Pick one.

:€-So you have a $60,000 car. We’re impressed. We have $150,000 corn pickers and hay balers. Drive them only three weeks a year.
