Boise — National dog bite prevention week is just a few days away, and it comes at a pertinent time for Treasure Valley residents. Last night we brought you the story of the three year old Nampa boy who was mauled by three pitbulls at a neighbors home. Dog bites are a fairly common occurrence, children and toddlers seem to be most at risk. In fact, according to experts, man’s best friend bites over 4.7 million people per year. In the wake of such a shocking event as the dog attack friday night, it leaves one wondering…why do dogs attack?
