Syringa Elementary School grades K-3 students will be celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday on Thursday March 1. They will be having a “read-in” with parents and grandparents. There will be five activity groups each involving different Dr. Seuss books such as “The Cat in the Hat.” The teachers and staff are paying for the activities themselves so the children can have a “fun day with books.”
The National Education Association started the Read Across America project to get children “excited about reading.” This is celebrated every year on Dr. Seuss’s birthday March 2. There will be no school that day because it is professional development day for the teachers.
