Eighth grade students who will be attending the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District high schools next fall (2007-2008) and parents, are invited to a Freshman Orientation. The event will be held Wednesday, April 4, 2007 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at each high school. Freshman orientation includes an electives fair where students and their parents can see the classes that are available to help them choose what classes to take their freshman year. It also includes a tour of the school and a chance to meet and talk to teachers.
Each high school has a variety of excellent class offerings for students. It is an important time in the lives of incoming freshmen. All eighth-grade students and their parents are encouraged to attend the event.
• Century High School will begin in the auditorium with an introduction by the administration and then move to the gymnasium for an electives and activities fair. Students and parents can meet with staff to discuss the upcoming school year.
• At Highland High School, the evening will start in the large gymnasium, and will continue in the commons area. A curriculum fair will be held to inform parents of electives, activities and other events at HHS.
• Pocatello High School will begin their freshman orientation in the auditorium and will continue in the halls and classrooms. Students and parents will view displays from various departments and clubs.
