POCATELLO/CHUBBUCK SCHOOLS’ CELEBRATION OFSCIENCE

The Pocatello/Chubbuck School District’s middle and high school teachers and students will host a “Celebration of Science”. The celebration will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2007 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. in the Pocatello High School new gymnasium at 325 N. Arthur. This science celebration gives teachers the opportunity to showcase what they are doing in their classes to encourage students to participate in science.

The public is invited to come and view the exciting and innovative things teachers and students are doing in science. The showcase will feature posters to showcase what students are learning in their science classes, projects students and teachers have or are undertaking, and demonstrations of projects that middle and high school students have created in their science classes.

Business partners in science, such as Idaho Power, J.R. Simplot Company, AMI Semiconductor, Idaho National Laboratory, and Hoku have been invited to participate in the celebration. Many of our other partners, who have made the commitment to student learning, have also been invited to participate. They include agencies such as the Department of Environmental Quality, Idaho Fish and Game, Pocatello Water Department, Bannock County Landfill and Idaho State University’s College of Technology, GK-12 program, physics department, Biology and Chemistry Departments, and Engineering Department.
