Pocatello/Chubbuck School District Hosts Transition Fair

The Pocatello/Chubbuck School District Special Services Department will host their 1st Annual Transition Fair – Building A Bridge to Tomorrow on April 25, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

This fair will host a variety of community resources and agencies which can assist high school students with their transition to adult life. These groups will feature employment opportunities, post high-school learning, independent living, community participation, and adult services.

A guest speaker from DO-IT (Disabilities, Opportunities, Internetworking, and Technology), an organization from the University of Washington, will conduct a workshop for school staff from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The speaker will also make a special presentation for parents and students at 7:00 p.m. DO-IT strives to increase the participation of individuals with disabilities in challenging academic programs and careers and promotes the use of computer and networking technologies to increase independence, productivity, and participation in education and employment.

The Pocatello/Chubbuck School District’s goal is to make parents, students, and staff aware of the many different resources and agencies that are available in our community. All parents, students, special education staff, administrators, counselors, and ancillary staff are invited and encouraged to attend this event.
