DRIVER EDUCATION – SUMMER SESSION 2007

The registration date for the Summer Driver Education Session is Wednesday, May 9, 2007 between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. at the Highland High School Commons Area, 1800 Bench Road. The Summer Session will run from June 4, 2007 through July 13, 2007. Students must be 14 ½ years of age by Wednesday, May 9, 2007 before going to the License Bureau for their permit.

REGISTRATION PROCESS:

Registration is first come first serve until all classes are full. The following class times are tentatively scheduled: 6:30 a.m., 8:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
• You must have a Driver Education Permit prior to registering. The permit is good for one year.
• You will be required to pay the fee of $135.00, cash or check, at the time of registration. Make checks payable to School District No. 25. If paying cash, it must be the exact amount.
• Parents are not required to be at registration
• Students are not automatically registered for the next session of Driver Education if they are not selected, withdraw or fail. INFORMATION TO PURCHASE YOUR DRIVER EDUCATION PERMIT:
• You must have a letter of compliance (available at your school office).
• It is MANDATORY that you bring an original state certified birth certificate. Hospital birth certificates and copies are not acceptable.
• You must have a picture I.D. (student activity card or year book picture.)
• You will be asked to give your Social Security number.
• You will be required to pay $33.50 cash (the License Bureau will not accept checks).
• You will be required to pass an eye exam.
• One of your parents or legal guardians must be present. Please bring your guardianship papers with you. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Having a permit does not guarantee a place in the summer program. Enrollment is limited to the amount of instructors available to teach the program. If you do not get into the summer program, you will have to re-register in the fall (September) or spring (January) programs if you are attending high school.
