Pocatello/Chubbuck School District Elementary Registration Options/Procedures for 2007-08 School Year

In an effort to facilitate student placement and enhance the learning environment for elementary students in the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District, Patti Mortensen, Director of Elementary Education, is asking that parents follow one of three options for registering ALL elementary students for the 2007-08 school year.

A District mailing will go out to parents of elementary students who completed last school year in the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District #25. The mailing will occur during the last week of July and will include the Registration forms. Parents are asked to complete the form and, at their option, families can take the form to the schools on August 9, 2007 between 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. or parents may mail the form before August 9, 2007. For the mail option, please send to: (your school name), 3115 Pole line Rd. Pocatello, ID 83201-6119.

Parents who do not receive the mailing, because their address has changed or they are new to the community, are asked to attend the August 9th registration at their neighborhood school. Please bring birth certificate, immunization record, and proof of address.

Students returning to the same neighborhood school they were enrolled in at the end of last school year can register online using the Student ID number located on the envelop they will receive.

The online option will be available from August 6, 2007 at 8:00 a.m. until August 10, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. Go to the District’s website (www.d25.k12.id.us) and click on the link: Elementary Student Registration on the homepage. Enter the Student ID number and birth date, and complete all fields. Push the “submit” button when completed. Internet access is available at the public libraries. Access will also be available at your neighborhood school on August 9, 2007 during the registration hours of 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

By registering with the paper forms through the mail, at your school, or electronically online, your child will be added to a class list for that school. The Pocatello/Chubbuck School District is attempting to facilitate student placement in a more orderly and timely manner.

Elementary transfer requests will be taken until August 15, 2007 and reviewed on August 16th by principals. Requests taken after August 15th cannot be considered until after school has started and more exact enrollment/class load numbers are established.
