After five years of participating in an innovative energy conservation program, the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District has saved more than $2 million. The District partnered with Energy Education, Inc., a national company that teaches public schools to plan and implement energy conservation programs.
Passing the $2 million mark is a significant milestone. The Pocatello/Chubbuck School District has achieved this level of success by implementing and consistently managing energy conservation and maintaining productive efforts at all levels of the organization. A.J. Watson, the District’s energy manager said, “everyone in the entire school district is to be commended for their commitment to conserving energy and being good stewards of the taxpayers money and the environment.”
Bart Reed, Business Operations Manager said the savings have been used to offset other increased costs of doing business and has helped to balance the budget each year.
