The Pocatello/Chubbuck School District has formed a Boundary/Long Range Facility Planning Advisory Committee to consider, research, and make recommendations on district wide capacity issues. The committee’s purpose is to develop an educational plan regarding school boundaries and long range plans for current and future district educational facilities.
Members of the advisory committee represent parent groups, the community at large, teachers, secondary and elementary schools and district administration.
The advisory committee members were divided into three subcommittees: School Boundaries, Student Capacity/Grade Configuration, and Facility Condition/Planning. The subcommittees will work independently and collaborate with the other subcommittees as needed. The work accomplished at the subcommittee level will be combined for the full committee to use to make recommendations. The three subcommittee chairs and the District’s elementary and secondary directors and business operations director, which comprise the Boundary and Long Range Facility Planning Steering Committee, will take final recommendations to the school board.
Completion of the committee’s work and recommendation to the board is expected by the end of January 2008.
