Terry G. Anderson
It is with great regret that the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District informs staff, students, parents and the community of the resignation of District 25 Trustee and Chair, Mrs. Terry G. Anderson. Her resignation will be considered for Board action at the School Board Meeting on December 18, 2007. “As I step down, I have great confidence in our Board and our Superintendent,” said Mrs. Anderson in her letter of resignation.
During Mrs. Anderson’s term, the Board adopted revised policies influencing change in the following areas:
• curriculum and instruction
• school safety
• fiscal responsibility
• buildings and grounds
• community relations
Board accomplishments throughout her term will contribute to student success for many, many years. “Terry always put the best interest of children first. She works hard for continuous learning and improvement,” said Board Vice-Chair Marianne Donnelly. “She is recognized statewide for her leadership abilities and served in statewide leadership roles,” Donnelly added.
Other board accomplishments during her term include:
• movement of 9th grade to high schools
• balanced budgets during tight financial times
• involvement of the community in the budgeting process
• renovated and upgraded several schools and facilities including a new gym at Pocatello High School
• purchased property for future growth
• hired a new Superintendent
• implemented Board Work Sessions
• implemented Board visits to schools
• included student representatives to the Board
• adopted Board Operating Principles
• increased Board participation on school committees and community organizations
• participated in planning for the high school/middle school redesign
Her service has made a marked contribution to quality and excellence in teaching and learning. She has been steadfast to the District’s purposeful work to meet the learning needs of all students. She greatly values and thanks all certified and classified staff for providing a safe, supportive and caring environment and for purposefully working daily to meet the learning needs of all students. In addition, she values the parents of the children served by District 25 for their support and involvement in their child’s learning. Finally, she thanks the community for its continued belief in the work of District 25 and for its support.
The Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25 Board, Administration and Staff values Mrs. Anderson’s selfless commitment to educating the children of our community.
