Telecommunications (Dispatch) Operator
Full-time, variable hours
$15.89-$18.70/hr
Operates emergency services equipment, phones and computer terminals. Knowledge of radio communications, recordkeeping, law enforcement teletype and telecommunications (dispatch) equipment desirable. Responsible for answering 9-1-1 phones and dispatching for police, fire and ambulance services. Applicants with previous emergency services dispatching will be given preference. Applicants considered for hire will undergo a background (criminal-character) check, Truth verification test (polygraph or computer voice stress analysis), hearing examination, psychological examination, and drug screening. Must type 40 wpm.
The first phase of the hiring procedure will require all applicants to complete and pass a written examination. Examination lasts approximately 4 hours. Applicants must attend one of the sessions to be considered for the position.

March 28, 2008 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
