The Pocatello Youth Forum has multiple vacancies open for appointment.
This 36-member board is a volunteer advisory board made up of local students in grades 9 through 12 with no more than 40% of the members from any one high school. The Forum is designed as a way for youth to:
a) express their views ;
b) encourage civic pride, literacy, and responsibility;
c) advise the Pocatello City Council and Mayor on issues of importance to the youth of the area; and
d) receive training opportunities and learning experiences regarding matters or governance.
Members of the Forum serve from their appointment date until their date of graduation from high school. Any student interested in becoming part of a dynamic group; learning leadership and organizational skills; and having a lot of fun along the way can obtain an application by contacting any high school front office or the Mayor’s Office at 911 North 7th Avenue; by calling 234-6163 or visiting the Mayor/Council link at www.pocatello.us.
Applications for membership must be received by May 28, 2008.
