MOSCOW, Idaho – For many college students, a job during school and throughout the summer is a way of life. Some need to work to afford college; others just want a little extra spending money for the weekends. Either way, a job during school is common place now.
The University of Idaho Financial Aid Office offers these tips for those seeking employment:
- Colleges are a great resource on the local job market. Offices on college campuses, such as Human Resources Office or the Job Locator Office, can help you find the perfect job.
- For those currently employed, transferring to another store location can take the stress out of looking for a job. Check to see if your organization has a location close to your new school.
- It’s okay to balance academics and a part-time job during your first year of college, but try not to work more than 15 hours a week.
- The key to working and going to college simultaneously is budgeting time. Make sure there is time to work and time to study.
