The Bannock County Sheriff’s Office says a controlled burn got out of hand near Sister City Park on Pocatello Creek Road.
The Chubbuck Fire Department responded around 3:00 this afternoon when a small fire quickly spread and ignited a barn and a telephone pole. Fire officials are still investigating the blaze, but tell us the person who started it did not have a burn permit.
Bannock County sheriff’s deputies say whether you’re starting a small or large fire, it’s always important to have a burn permit.
