Miles Electric Vehicles to Demo All-Electric Cars & Trucks to City of Pocatello

Posted on: May 05, 2008

WHAT:
Miles Electric Vehicles, an all-electric vehicle manufacturer based out of Santa Monica, Calif., will be demonstrating how its zero emissions ZXZ40ST Work Truck and ZX40S Advanced Design SUV can green Pocatello’s city fleet.

With the price of gas at $3.50+ per gallon and the cost of electricity per mile (according to EPA estimates) at $0.02 – $0.03 per mile, a typical fleet operator will save about $2,500 per year by using the MILES ZX40ST or MILES ZX40S Advanced Design. That’s about $10,000 to $15,000 in lifetime fuel cost savings! Additionally, replacing just one gas powered fleet vehicle with a MILES all-electric vehicle will prevent an average of 13,330 pounds of CO2 emissions.

WHO:
Ron Gompertz, MILES Northwest Regional Sales Manager, will be conducting the demonstration for Pocatello’s Senior Environmental Coordinator, John Sigler, and other city officials.

WHEN:
Tuesday, May 6, 2008
2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

WHERE:
City Hall
911 N 7th Avenue
Pocatello, ID 83201
