The National Park Service is reporting a new record for the number of visitors to Yellowstone during the month of June.
Last month, more than 612-thousand people visited the nation’s first national park, that’s up by nearly 25-hundred visitors from June of 2007.
It also marks only the second time in history that Yellowstone’s June visitation has topped the 600-thousand mark.
Staff with the National Park Service report it’s been the second highest visitation level ever recorded for the first six months of 2008.
On average, more than three million people from all over the world explore the wonders of Yellowstone each year.
