INKOM – Chris Kay, 59, passed away peacefully Tuesday May 6, 2008 with her husband by her side.
Chris was born in Rigby, Idaho on January 24, 1949 to Jack and Dona Pedersen. She was the second of four children. She was raised in Pocatello where she attended Hawthorne Junior High School and Pocatello High School.
She was married to Gordon Crystal in 1966 and they had 3 daughters and 1 son. They later divorced.
In 1994 she married John Kay. They lived in Inkom where they enjoyed their country lifestyle.
Chris enjoyed running, hiking in the canyon behind her house, horseback riding, camping, wood carving, the latest craft fad, traveling, oil painting, reading mysteries and most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a friend to everyone she met and made friends everywhere she went. She drove school buses while her kids were young and later drove buses for INL where she worked for 18 years.
Chris is survived by her husband, John Kay; two sisters, Gay (Tom) Patterson and Penni McMichael; one brother Kelly Pedersen; one daughter, Stacie (Pat) Houser; one son Brett (Jeni) Crystal; one son-in-law Andy (Jodi) Espinoza; one step son Kip (Rebecca) Kay; one step daughter Kim (Paul) Kunz; 15 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother Jack and Dona Pedersen; her daughters Kim Espinoza and Camille Crystal.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. Fourth Ave. Friends will be received on Friday May 9, 2008 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Colonial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
