IDAHO FALLS, ID: The Palisades Ranger District plans to burn the Lufkin Unit in the South Big Holes Mountains. Ignition will begin at 1200 noon on Friday, September 27, 2007. The Unit is approximately 200 acres, with the majority of the acres in grass & sage w/Douglas-Fir/Aspen stringers in the draws and ridges.
The project is approximately 5 miles north of Hwy 26 on the north side of the Snake River. A general vicinity map is attached. Legal description of the burn is: T. 3 N., R. 43 E., Sections 2, 3, 10, 11.
