Pocatello – The Idaho Department of Fish and Game will host a series of public meetings to take input for preparation of the 2008-2009 fishing rules. Information from recent Southeast Region fishery studies will also be presented. This region contains the Bear, Portneuf and Blackfoot rivers and the reach of the Snake River from Gem State Dam downriver to Gifford Springs in Lake Walcott. Within these drainages numerous fisheries also occur in tributary streams and in irrigation and hydropower reservoirs. The primary purpose of this meeting is to seek input from the public on any fishing related issues which are important to you, including fishing rule changes on specific water bodies. Also, biologists will present rule and management changes that are currently being considered and would like the public to comment on them. All of the public meetings start at 7:00 pm. Meeting dates are as follows:| Pocatello | Tuesday, May 8, | ISU-Student Union 3rd Floor, North Fork Room |
| Blackfoot, | Wednesday, May 9, | Mountain View Middle School-Room 410 |
| Soda Springs | Thursday, May 10 | Senior Citizens’ Center -60 South Main |
