An internationally known biologist from Italy, expert in animal ecology, conservation biology and wolves, will be in Boise June 13 to talk about wolf management in Europe.
Luigi Boitani, a visiting professor of ecology and vertebrate zoology from the University of Rome, Italy, will present a talk, “Experiences and challenges of wolf management across Europe,” from 4 to 5:45 p.m. June 13, 2007, in Room 112 of the Education Building at Boise State University.
Boitani, who has a doctorate in biology from the University of Rome, is the president elect for the Society for Conservation Biology. He has written several books on wolves, including one recently co-edited with L. David Mech entitled, “Wolves: Behavior, Ecology, and Conservation.” He has 30 years of carnivore management experience in Europe.
The presentation is sponsored by the University of Idaho and Boitani’s Boise visit was arranged by Steve Nadeau, large carnivore manager for the Idaho Department of Fish and Game.
