Fish Fest Planned for Free Fishing Day

Posted on: June 07, 2007

The Morrison Knudsen Nature Center, in conjunction with Park Center Pond, plans a Fish Fest from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Free Fishing Day, Saturday, June 9.

Join Idaho Fish and Game employees at Park Center Pond for a fish identification game and our macro invertebrate—bugs—table for a closer look at aquatic life. Then visit the Nature Center for fun, hands-on activities the whole family can enjoy. Activities include Gyotaku, or fish painting, fly-tying demonstrations, and more. Admission is free.

Pick up a fishing passport and fill with stamps from the activities visited. Filled passports will be put in a drawing for fishing related prizes.

The Nature Center is behind Fish and Game headquarters at 600 S. Walnut, a 10-minute walk from Park Center Pond on Park Center Boulevard. For information call the Nature Center at 208-334-2225.
