BECOME A HUNTER EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR

Posted on: June 11, 2007

Individuals interested in becoming Hunter Education Instructors can attend a new instructor orientation on the following dates:

  • Pocatello, Monday June 18, beginning at 5:30pm at the Regional Fish and Game Office at 1345 Barton Rd, Pocatello
  • Preston, Monday, June 25, beginning at 5:30pm at the Preston Fire Station at 55 W 1st South

New Instructor Orientation outlines how to organize the class, select meeting sites, how to order supplies and how to get students registered and finally certified. Instructors learn how to use lesson plans, how to teach using various methods, and how to employ effective teaching styles.

The heart of Idaho’s Hunter Education Program is the corps of volunteers who provide the instruction. Hunter Education instructors stand as examples of what each new hunter should be in ethics, behavior and responsibility to themselves, landowners, other hunters and the resource.

For more information and to register for Hunter Education Instructor Orientation please contact Terri Bergmeier at 251-6510.
