INDOOR CLIMBING WALL TO OPEN

Posted on: October 11, 2006

The indoor rock climbing wall at the Pocatello Community Recreation Center, 144 Wilson Avenue, opens October 16, 2006.

Open climb will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. These hours will continue from October 16 through December 16. The climbing wall will be closed December 17 and will reopen after the holidays on January 8, 2007. “The indoor climbing wall is an excellent way to stay in shape,” said Cody Nelson, Outdoor Recreation Instructor.

All climbing equipment, except climbing shoes, is provided. There will be an instructor available at all times to certify belayers and to answer any questions. It is strongly recommended that children under 14 years of age be accompanied by an adult.

Climbers who do not have a Community Recreation Center pass can purchase a day pass to the facility. Day pass prices are: $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for children under 18; and $2.25 for children 5 years and under. With the day pass, individuals will have access to all other activities at the Community Recreation Center.
