Boise, Idaho— As letter carriers dropped off the mail, they picked up thousand of pounds of food.
Boxes of canned goods were dropped off at the Idaho Food Bank in Ada County and at the Salvation Army in Canyon County.
Both charities say the donations make up their largest food drive of the year.
It’s especially important in the Gem State, since Idaho is ranked as the 13th hungriest in the nation by the USDA.
