Obama, McCain face obstacles

Barack Obama is facing an uphill battle in West Virginia while John McCain now faces a conservative threat in the fall

Recent public opinion polls show Hillary Clinton leading Obama by as much as 40 points— another indication of Obama’s continued inability to make inroads with white working-class and downscale voters.
